smell At 6

carried in on trust
faces are a blur
feeling dizzy still not sure
of blanket shared and smell like sweat and dust

whiskersbreathandfingers
coating tender senses
harshness lingered
stung a little at the tips
where nerves quivered on hands
teeth
lips

on and on into the night
body e x p l o r e d

looking up from hardwood floor
face frozen to the sight
of stars so close through glass as I had never seen before

I'm someplace safe
way up high where seamless shapes
unravel sky

unbinded by your touch
the misery of truth is such a lie

for my eyes
are trailing rainbows
through this emptiness
to hide
