She longs for a time when romance roamed free...

All she ever wished for, was a happy ending
But reality's cruel fate crushed naïve dreams with
Countless hours spent in solitude
Dreaming of days when romance had roamed free

Eternally yours he had promised on that day
Forever and ever till death do us part
Gifted her finger with a band of gold and diamonds
Happily she entered a world full of promises.

In the beginning, all was as it should be
Joyful moments spent in each other's arms
Killing time with murmurs of sweet nothings
Loving one another as only they can while
Making plans for future angels.

Now the days are long and empty
Only the neighbors' cheerful cries of laughter as company
Perhaps if she closes the curtains she can pretend she is
Queen of her domain once again.

Rough, rough he had been the first time as
She begged and pleaded that it had been a little mistake
Tears shed as blows rained upon her
Unmasking the layers of pain she had built and hidden within

Volatile, vicious, and angry he had become
When all she could do was try to appease him as best she could, but come
Xmas day, she will take off this ring and
Yearn for a freedom she so rightly deserves for the
Zero hour will come when she finally gets to spread her wings and fly.
