when the tooth fairy becomes ill, it is up to a young kids to save the day.
Welcome to Sweet Tooth…
The country of Sweet Tooth was a calm land. It had mountains, rivers, and plateaus. Half of Sweet Tooth was known as Sweet Land. Sweet Land was made of all candy, like the game Candy-land. Some of the places in Sweet Land were The Lolly Pop Forest, the Marshmallow Mountains, and the Carmel Cave. The other half of Sweet Tooth was made of things you may find in a dentist’s office. There was Braces Bridge, Floride Fountain, and Root Canal.
Everything in Tooth Town was quite, and no one was in sight. You could even hear the water in Root Canal, which was on the other side of town along with the tooth fairy’s castle. The tooth fairy’s castle was made of white gleaming teeth with rubber band towers. It was truly a beautiful sight. Suddenly, a loud roar came from the Tooth Rink. As the doors would open, the action became clearer. Stepping in to the rink just before the final buzzer, the man’s voice from the podium sounded.
“ Timmy Tooth takes it down the sidelines; he passes it to Willy White. Willy takes it to the goal, passes it to Timmy; he shoots, he scores! The Toothinators beat the Dentures… they win the Teenager Hockey Tournament (THT)!” Timmy is a tall and slim boy, with shaggy long blonde hair and chocolate brown eyes. His medium-sized muscles were clear in his hockey jersey, and his face smothered with sweat from the exciting game. A large smile was spread across his face.
Everyone was up and out of their seats chanting in unison, “Timmy…Timmy…Timmy.” The victory of the season now belonged to tooth side of Sweet Tooth, but the jolly spirit was soon over.
“She needs you! Help Timmy, help.”
Timmy turned to see Lily, the tooth fairy’s daughter racing towards him. Lily was the most beautiful girl in Tooth Town (or Timmy thought so). She had caramel colored hair with a hint of light pink when she turned towards the sun. Her eyes were like ice blue mouthwash with a glow of pearl white floss. Anyone who had sense in Tooth Town would think she was a princess and the most beautiful girl they ever saw. As Lily rushed towards Timmy, he caught a glimpse of confusion and bewilderment in her eyes, and he immediately knew something was wrong. Without a chance to think, she grabbed his hand and rushed him out the door. Before he knew what was going on, he found himself in the fairy castle and heading up to the fairy’s room.
As he entered the room, Lily beside him, he began to make a bow towards the tooth fairy, but he froze mid-way, his mouth half open. The tooth fairy was lying in her bed, but her wings were bent and her skin had lost color. She did not have a big friendly smile on her face; instead she had a look of remorse. Timmy quietly whispered to Lily,
“ What happened?”
“Why don’t you ask her yourself?” Lily responded impatiently.
“Because…I just can’t,” Timmy was looking at the ground by now.
“Are you ok? Maybe there is something I can do to help.” At this, Lily leaned over, and attempted to give him a soft peck on the cheek, but he pulled away. “What’s the matter? Don’t you like me?”
“Yes, but I can’t do this right now, something was obviously important or you would not have brought me here.” There was total silence. Both Timmy and Lily were looking into each other’s eyes; suddenly there was a loud rumbling sound, which made them both jump. It was the tooth fairy’s stomach growling.
“ Why aren’t you guys feeding her?” Timmy asked.
“ We don’t know how or what to give her. We have been trying to feed her all of her favorite foods, but she refuses to eat anything. We asked the doctor what was wrong and had all of the best physicians flown in to see her, but none of them know what is wrong.” Lily said, looking worryingly at her mother.
“So… if none of you people know what is wrong, why did you bring me here?”
“ Do you remember that story you read me, that you wrote in class?” Lily began.
“Yah, but what does that have to do with anything?”
“Well, it kind of reminds me of how this all started. The princess’s mom became very sick, and the princess would do anything to get her better. The stable boy then went on the long journey into the other land and got her that special Caramel-Crystal Medicine, and he married the princess.”
“You’re right, that does sound like my story! It can’t possibly happen though, that story was a FANTASY!”
“Norman,” Lily shouted at the top of her lungs, and a guard dressed in hazel robes appeared from one of the corridors, “Round up the royal guards and get my horses ready. We are going to get my mom back to being the tooth fairy, before someone else does something to her.”
Norman nodded his head in agreement and went off.
“What was that all about?” Timmy asked looking confused.
“ We are going to save my mom,” Lily said sharply.
“What do you mean ‘we’, don’t you mean ‘I’?” Timmy said confused, “This is no job for the tooth fairy’s daughter.”
“Excuse me, but who thought of your story? Who brought you here on her own behalf? It was me. That’s right Me…Me…Me!!!” By now Lily’s face had turned red and her wings were shooting red sparks.
“Fine, you can come.”
“Before we go anywhere or do anything, where are we going?”
“We are going to the Marshmallow Mountains. We’re going to save my mom!”
“Why don’t you just send one of your guards? I’m sure they could get the medicine if we told them where to go.”
“We have sent guards. The truth is, we have sent so many of our guards and we tell them where to go, but they can’t fit in the cave. My dad has even tried to get the medicine, he can’t fit either.”
“What do you mean he can’t fit, there was nothing about that in my story.”
“Well, the entrance to the cave is fit only so a kid can get by. Even if an adult shrunches down, they are too wide. You have to be a kid.”
By the time Lily and Timmy had finished their conversation, they were at the fairy’s stable. Her guards were all waiting, and two were holding horses. One of which was big and gold and the other a little smaller than the other, but pink.
“Who do you want to ride? Sol Sergit or Rush of Hope?” Lily asked patiently.
“I think I’ll ride Sol Surgit.”
“ Ok, then let’s go,” in a flash Lily was up and ready to go on Rush of Hope. As soon as Timmy got on, they began to ride towards Gumdrop Gully. Gumdrop Gully was known for having a Twirly-Swirly Monster who lived in it. No one had been able to cross the Gully since the tooth fairy became head fairy (which was in 009 and it was now 4089). As they approached the gully, the horses began to rouse up and became very tense and nervous. Suddenly a big one eyed, one horned, blind, twirly-swirly, purple people eater shot out of the water, the horses reared.
“Edamemma,” Lily shouted so loud that the ground shook. At the sound out “Edamemma”, giant white eagle wings spread from the horses sides. The horses urged forward towards the end of the cliff leading into Gumdrop Gully. They were so close to falling off of the cliff that Timmy felt that this might be the last thing he saw. The horses suddenly took lift into the sky with Timmy and Lily still on them.
“AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH,” Timmy yelled in horror as he flew over the monster. Timmy shut his eyes so tight that silver lines were swerving on what seemed to be his eyelids. A large force urged Timmy forward. He opened his eyes slightly to see to his delight, that he was on the other side of Gumdrop Gully. He landed on what looked like a desert, but there was no sand. As he opened his eyes fully, Lily was nowhere in sight and a shiver went through Timmy’s body. He felt like he had plunged into a large pool of ice water. Had Lily fallen in to Gumdrop Gully? Maybe the monster caught Lily in its jaws as they were crossing. As much as he hated flying on Sol Sergio, he kicked his legs and shouted, “Edamemma” and they took off back towards Gumdrop Gully.
They were over the gully, but the monster was nowhere to be seen. Sol Surgit circled around the spot where the monster once swam, but everything was still and quiet. Sol Surgit began to fly closer to the water’s surface. They were nearly about to touch the dark liquid, when Sol Surgit sped back towards the sky as fast as his wings would let him. Timmy was wondering why Sol Surgit was acting so strange? Within seconds the monster jumped out of the water, nearly nipping the tip of Sol Surgit’s tail. As the monster fell back towards the water, he exposed hundreds of rows of sharp, glittering orange teeth. He and Sol Surgit flew back towards the flat lands. Timmy noticed there was a colorful figure jumping up and down at the edge of the flat lands. As Sol Surgit began to land, the figures became clearer and a high-pitched whinny cried out. It was Lily and Rush of Hope!
“Where did you guys go?” Timmy cried out in relief as they landed.
“I guess we landed on opposite sides of the plateau.
“Huh? What’s a plateau?
“A plateau is just an elevated piece of flatland. This is Pop Rock Plateau.”
“Why do they call it Pop Rock Plateau?”
“Well, a long time ago there were like rocks and they would like pop if you stepped on them.
After the “plateau delay,” they decided to start heading west towards the Marshmallow Mountains where Carmel Cave was thought to be hidden. Timmy and Lily decided to let the horses walk instead of fly, since the horses looked tired. They walked for what seemed like days before stopping for lunch. They were in a clearing in the middle of the forest and dismounted onto the wet squishy dirt below their feet. Lily opened the packs on the back of the horse’s saddles, and took out two “monster” sandwiches.
“Here you go,” Lily said innocent and sweetly.
“Thanks,” Timmy said softly. “So where do you think we are now? I mean you have obviously been here before.”
“No, I have never been here before. Only to King Kone and Queen Frostine’s Castle. It is made of all candy! The towers are upside down ice crème cones, and the gate is made of gumdrops!”
“I meant you have been to the “sweet” side of Sweet Tooth before,” Timmy said annoyed.
“Oh, yah well then you’re right.”
“So where exactly are we?” Timmy asked.
“Well I don’t exactly know where we are, but I….”
“You’re in the Lolly Pop Forest sweet hearts.”
Timmy and Lily swung around to their amazement to see a pink tree with colorful branches glaring right at them.
“Wh…Wh…Who are you?” Timmy asked friendly.
“I am Lucy, the Enchantress of the Trees,” the tree said.
“What do you want? If you bring any harm to me my mom will have you chopped down so fast…” Lily said making a fist with both hands and talking without talking a breath.
“Whoa! Chill out dearies I was only trying to help”
“How can you possiblyhelp us? You’re just a tree!” Timmy boasted.
“Oh I am much more than a tree. See my beautiful branches? They are magical! Place any part of you body on one of them and you will be transported to the location the branch is assigned.”
Timmy and Lily just stood there with their mouths gaping open. “Where are y’all goin by the way?” Lucy asked “I haven’t seen anyone in these here parts in centuries.”
“Why? Isn’t this the way to The Marshmallow Mountains?”
“Um, no. This is The Lolly Pop Forest, and The Lolly Pop Forest is opposite of the Marshmallow Mountains,” Lucy said proudly.
“Oh no!” Lily said in shock and horror, “It takes at least 2 weeks to get across sweet land, we’ll never make it in time. We’ll never save my mother,” Lily began to cry. Timmy moved towards Lily and put a comforting arm around her. Lily became a flushed pink.
“Thanks,” she murmured.
“Wait, Lucy do you have a branch that goes to the Marshmallow Mountains?” Timmy asked softly as Lily was calming down.
“Why of course I do. Why do you have to go to the Marshmallow Mountains any way?”
“Long story, but we need to get to Carmel Cave to get a Carmel Crystal Medicine for Lily’s mom.
“Well dearies, you’re in luck! I even have a branch that goes straight to Carmel Cave, but may I ask, how do you know the medicine is in Carmel Cave?” Lucy said curiously.
“We have sent other people and they told us it is in the cave.”
Lucy said, “See my violet branch?”
“Yeah,” Lily and Timmy said together.
“Put your horses reins in one hand and grab on to the branch with your other, on the count of three say “Quirp”.” They grabbed the branch and on the count of three all said “quirp.” Suddenly they were in a cave with glittering carmel covered walls.
“We made it! Yes” Timmy and Lily said slapping hands.
“Who goes there?” a heart stopping voice said.
“Oh, no, Timmy, this must really be your story. Wasn’t there a dragon in your story?” Lily said shaking.
“Yeah, there was the Sugar Daddy Dragon. His fire was made of flaming Carmel and…”
“What Timmy? What?”
“The Carmel Crystal Medicine is in his sleeping chamber. The dragon never lets the medicine out of his sight.”
“We’ll never make it in time,” Lily started to cry softly. It was quieter now, and they were sitting on a hard Carmel colored rock. Their heads were down and they were thinking of how to get the medicine, when a little creature came to their feet.
“ I say! Who goes there?” the little creature said in the heart stopping voice.
“Woa!” Timmy said, “You’re not the Sugar Daddy Dragon are you?”
“Of course not…He is,” the creature said, pointing to a giant shaddow on the caves’ wall. It had huge horns and big teeth. It looked about nine times the size of Lily and Timmy put together. Lily was just turning around to see what the dragon actually looked like when she screamed.
“Timmy, look!” In the corner there lay a bottle with the words Carmel Crystal Medicine on it.
“Grab the bottle and go,” Timmy yelled. They began to run for the door and to their surprise they saw Lucy waiting for them at the entrance of the cave.
“What are you doing here?” Timmy said in panic.
“Helping you escape. Now grab on to my orange branch! Now here we go!’
“QUIRP”

. . .
THREE MONTHS LATER
THE TOOTH FAIRY’S CASTLE
“Mom, how are you feeling?”
“Much better, honey, Thanks for asking.”
“I love you, mom.”
“Darling if I am not mistaken, there is a very handsome young man in the front hall waiting for you.”
“Timmy!” Lily jumped in joy. “Timmy! I missed you so much!”
“Why would you miss me? We saw each other only yesterday.”
“Still…Timmy I think there is something we have been avoiding for quite some time.”
“What?”
“Well remember at the end of your story? The princess and the stable boy get married?”
“Yah, but why does that matter?”
“Well everything in your story happened. Why can’t that?”
“Are you saying you like me?”
“Maybe,” Lily said shyly, looking at the ground.
“But, we’re too young to get married!”
“You idiot! We may be to young to get married, but we’re not to young to go out. Are we? I mean only if you want to…”
Timmy grabbed her by the hand and kissed her. And they lived…well you know how these stories end.
