are dreams real? I believe they are
He nudged me with his cold, moist nose.

My eyes fluttered, as I became semi-aware of something. I looked at the bedside clock. It was 3:18a.m.

I listened. There was no sound, all was quiet in the still night.

Consciousness was drifting into sleep as the nudge came back once again, this time more persistently.

I could feel the yellow eyes, focusing on my mind.

I wasn't afraid, in fact I was happy knowing he had come to find me.

Nighteyes spoke to my mind:

"what is wrong?"
"Why don't you come?"
"The birds, squirrels, deer, coyote, and I, all miss you."
"We all know your voice but don't hear it anymore."
"We know all is ok when you are there. You care about us all."
"Why don't you come back?"

"I have been really sick, Nighteyes, but I will be there tomorrow", I replied.

He whined softly, licking my hand.
Then I sensed he was gone.

I sat up in bed.
It was so real.
I looked at Babe and Shadow, my two dogs.
They were both very alert.

I could still see those penetrating, yellow eyes in my mind.

I smiled to myself, as I curled back under the covers.

I willed myself to remember this for morning, so I could add it to my stories.

With a happy sigh and a warm glow in my heart, I once again fell back into a deep sleep.

At 6:30a.m, Babe and Shadow woke me up.

It all came back, in a silvery grey flash.

I remembered Nighteyes dream visit!
