THIS SPECIAL DAY

THIS SPECIAL DAY


It was the night before Christmas
And the year was 0-1
And people were praying for someone to come.

Someone to save them from their sins and their shame
Someone who could take away all their pain.

Now the promise God made, was a promise you know
Was about to take place
All systems were go.

A star had been placed that night in the sky
A sign a new baby's voice would cry
It was a voice that would be heard
Over land and sea,
A voice that would be heard by you and me.

But before we could have and accept what he gave
We would have to believe
So we too could be saved.

The price he paid to save us from sin
We couldn't pay now
Nor could we have then.

The thing we need to do for Christmas this year
Is to thank God for showing
And staying right here.

His spirit is with us in this very room
And we'll be Heaven with him real soon.

It's one of His promises you know he will keep
It's the advantage we have as one of his sheep.

There will be no sickness, no sorrow, no pain.
When that day comes He will call us by name.

So, this Christmas morning before you arise
Think first of Jesus, then cover your eyes.
Thank Him for Christmas, for His special day,
And to put no other God before Him
Is what you must pray.

Once you have done this
And all has been said
Kick off the covers and jump out of bed.

As quick as you can get to the tree
And gather all the presents
With your name that you see.

You feel them, then shake them
And then you begin
To tear off the wrappings and find what's within

But remember the beat gift
Was given with love
A gift that was given from Someone above.

There are Christians all over the world everywhere
And we all have one thing in common we share
The birth of our Savior we now can proclaim;
The Lord Jesus Christ in His name.

So remember Him always
But remember I pray
The Lord Jesus Christ on this special day
