Eternal Admiration

Seeking every day for the words to say
that may proclaim my love for thee.
I would set upon the sun a spot for you
to say to the flowers “remember me.”
And all the love of yours that’s true
would glisten on the morning dew,
lend its splendor to shimmering seas
and cast its rays on fields of green.
This life giving radiance that befalls this scene
would carry you to immortality.
A mark of your existence I would make
if only I had the hands to take
that which is yours and for no one else’s place,
your mind, body and soul;
to set atop a pedestal
in a monument to your grace.
