Better than 'Have It All'. About heartbreak, and moving on. Written very recently. |
A Piece of Advice You knew that it would end in tears, You knew that from the start, Yet still you went ahead and tried To give away your heart. A few months later, it is over, And yes indeed, it hurts, That bastard doesn't know how much His actions cost in desserts. He took your heart away from you, And gave it back in tatters, Still, you know, like everyone else, It's not the pain that matters. No, the pain is just a side-dish, The fries to go with the meal, What really counts is the way you know, That your heart will eventually heal. You've cried out all your shiny tears, You've finished all your wailing, And now you look ahead and see, You're in for some smooth sailing. This short (but fun) encounter you've had, With this cute, but annoying man, Will never stop you, SHOULD never stop you, From continuing what's already began. No, you idiots, I'm talking about LIFE, Don't get so damn analytical, I'm giving you advice, as plain as day, So try not to be hypercritical. A life without love is no life at all, Ewan McGregor once told Nicole, So get out there and love, because, well, dammit, A life without love isn't whole! Much better than 'Have It All', wouldn't you say? I suppose I've got a bigger vocabulary than when I was eleven. I hope I do, anyway ;). |
