A description of what God means to me, having more feet in the verse as previous poems |
He feels loneliness when I am not around And draws me closer when I am down. He leads me to desire more for this life of mine For I am created like Him, in due time. When I am wounded, betrayed, hated on end, He exceeds all the kings horses and all his men. That is who my God is. In my weakness, He makes me strong; He gives me breath all the day long. He calls me to His table for a filling meal So that I work harder and do His will. In the wind, in the rain, in the dark of night, I feel His presence as He holds me tight. That is who my God is. Long ago, when I rejected His love, I despised everything; push came to shove. He loved me all the more inspite of -- me. He graced the utmost redeeming opportunity. He rescued my perishing, dying soul; He was the shepherd completing His fold. That is who my God is. As I age and serve the Lord the best I can, I know he will continue to hold my hand. Though troubles may come to block my view Of the prize I am waiting for, along with you, He will reach down and carry me home As His child no longer lost, nor alone. That is who my God is. |
