It seems to me...

It seems to me
as I sit here,
that life is funny
when you look at your fear.

Take, for example,
fear of flying.
The cause is simple-
you're afraid of dying.

Fear of spiders
is easy to see-
they creep and they crawl,
where they shouldn't be.

Fear of dogs
is natural to most.
They bark and they bite
as they yank at their post.

And sneaking a cookie,
late at nite,
you're probably afraid
of lighting a light.

But, when it comes down
to the bottom line,
of what is your fear
a most certain sign?

The answer, you'll find,
it's deep in your soul.
And figuring it out
is a worthy goal.

For me, I think,
it would be to part
from those i hold
dear to my heart.

I hope with my rhyme,
short tho it be,
I've helped you to know
a small part of me.
