Show Me the Light

Running
That’s all I seem to do now
Is run

My life is filled with darkness
And no matter how much I try to run
It always catches up with me
Is there a way out of this eternal darkness?

I call out to you, in this darkness
Can you hear me?
Or am I alone here…?

Please, hear my cries
Please, show me the way
The way to that glimmering light

I know it’s there
I just need to find it

I reach out, trying to grasp that light
But it always seems to grow farther away
The more I reach out

So I ask of you
This simple favor
To please
Show me the way

I call out to you in this darkness
Can you hear me?

Even so, I desperately need your help
I can’t find the light on my own
No matter how much I may try
I can’t be alone in this journey
I can’t
For I cannot accomplish anything, find anything
If I am alone

So I ask of you

To please
Show me the way

This light,
I know it’s there
So, if you could
Help me to find it
For I want to be out of this enveloping darkness
And in the light,
Walking the path, not afraid
Not lost in darkness, but smiling in the light
