The story of a lonely girl finding hope in a lost boy.
Ashes

Ashes.
Everywhere
You go,
They are there.
The ashes
Of Time.
The ashes
Of Love.
The ashes
Of Hate
And Hope.
The ashes
Of the lost
And weary
Souls,
Follow
Wherever
You go.
They seem
To become
Your shadow.
To be with you
Night and Day.
You walk
Upon them
Obliviously
Not realizing
Your crime;
You’ll pay.
Like the phoenix
You burst
Into flame,
Then are born
Again anew.
Where are
You born from?
A child asked you.
From ashes
I’m born anew.
You look
To the child
For the wisest
Wisdom
And hear
His voice again.
Where are
You born from?
His voice
Seems to echo,
But this time
The answer’s
Not plain.
Ashes
You said
Once before.
Ashes
You had embraced.
But ashes
Blow away
Across the sea
As timeless
As the eternal
Race.
Who are you?
The child
Asked of you.
Who are you?
Your voice
Replied.
I am Ashes.
He answered
Faithfully.
I am Ashes
The lost boy.
You’re no
Longer lost.
You said to him
Embracing him
Lovingly.
You’re no
Longer hungry
For friendship
And love,
For you
Can stay
With me.
Who are you?
The boy asked.
You smiled
And answered
Truthfully:
I am Ashes.
