This is a poem about the moment when the man is about to end his life.
My eyes were sad and misty.

Wrinkles on my face,
Could tell you my story.

I have grown old and my skin is cold,
My blood is blue,
And I can stand it no more.

I am facing the oceans mighty and deep,
The winds and the chilly rain cutting deep in,
I stand alone in the darkness,
Waiting for someone to save me.

I am tired, old and worn,
My ragged clothes tell yet another story,
The blanket is soggy and torn,
My life in shambles,
Each piece shattered and lost.

Standing on the peer all alone,
Reflecting on life, that had been rather sad,
I wonder where I went wrong,
Where I faltered, where I failed,
Where I could have saved my drowning friend,
Or saved my marriage and my family’s grace.

As I take the plunge to meet death,
I could see my brethren smiling at the gates,
The water came gushing inside,
The coldness wrapped me in her arms,
And I knew I would see hell, alas!

The death bell that they said would toll,
Long behold started, slitting my soul,
Life was ending for me,
In a bad note.

I fought for the last breath, but in vain,
My lungs were already filled with pain,
My legs gave way and I went down.

I met Death,
And saw her wrath.

A disgraceful life ended in a disgraceful way.
