A troubled child

Little One

I see the pain in your eyes.
I hear the pain in your cries.
What can I do, what can I say?
Your whole life is in dismay.

My heart is burdened with pain.
Will my little one ever be sane?
As I look at you, you have changed.
Our lives are now forever rearranged.

You have a long rode ahead of you.
Oh so many things to work through.
Wishing to take all the pain away.
Praying you will be alive one more day.

I need you back where you belong.
I ask, what have I done so wrong?
All my love, all of those years.
All I am left with is tears.

You will always be my little one.
Bright, smiling face in the sun.
I send my prayers as you go,
I will always love you so.
