This poem is about two lovers sharing the journey of life, together
THE ROAD

The wind howls hard this day my dear
Amidst the slicing rain
Now take my arm around you and hear
The song the angels sing

We’ve slept on the harsh and muddy roadside
Two hearts but one desire
And O the words we’ve shared and dare to confide
By the side of our warm campfire

We’ve grown weary, you and I
As we walk the road ahead
But we’ve shared a many a lovely sigh;
And O I need to rest my aching head
Upon your lovely thigh

We’re off on the road again my dear
That we have tramped for many a mile
With many a pain but never a fear
As we walk along this aisle
In all sorts of days and years and weather

Ah, see the road ahead, my dear,
shall we travel it together
