It is raining and he crinkles his nose.
Small brown eyes peer shrewdly through the window -
it is raining and he crinkles his nose.
Tiny white fingers press against the cool glass
trying to wish away the rain.
His yellow rain coat hangs from a hook
above his galoshes in the living room - they are dry.
Unlike the other kids, he doesn't like to run and jump
in the wet, muddy puddles.
He likes it when the sun is out and shining -
when the weather is warm.
The rain falls hard;
it doesn't want to stop.
He removes his hand from the window pane
and sits down on the beige rug.
