savagely romantic, this piece stands and demands respect. the rhyme moves the story along as if on greased rails... the only change I might make to this is to change one word, substitute 'tale' for 'story' in the last line of the second verse... other than that, it was great... dark and brooding.
I love the images this invokes, bed and brush, canvas and silk, the emotions are easily felt and draw me in to a deeper level. the language leaves me with the impression that I am the staircase; that I am the silent observer of all that is happening, and my eyes are all that are needed to set the scene in motion... overall a wonderful job, well fulfilled.
wow, Tara. that was great... unbelievably so. a little close to home, though I was half the age when my father went, and i didn't have this conversation... outstanding.
