I have never been able to rhyme my poetry, but in this poem you have done it perfectly. That is why I rated it as a perfect five. All the rhyming aside you clearly show the love you have for your husband and the love he has for you. I hope to someday be so lucky.
Isn't this what all poets want for their poetry? To inspire, to challenge, and even sometimes anger the reader is what a poetry writer wants. We want them to think! You have "hit the nail on the head." with this one. I cannot just write poetry, I need to be inspired. Your words have inspired me.
An interesting poem, is it about death? I have never been able to write about death and loss in poetry, I respect you as a writer for that. I can write about death in fiction, but not in poetry. Your words cut to the bone just as your topic. You have definitely gotten your point across.
It is amazing how so few words can say so much. You covered the entire lives of you and your sister. From your childhood with her holding your hand to the you holding hers at her death, you covered it completely. What a touching poem about such an incredibly difficult subject. Your sister would be proud of you.
