I can sort of understand why you ended your last sentecne with that big space in the middle of it. It really helped me understand the magnitude to which whoever the poem refers to ruined that heart.
I can't sympathize with this poem as I've never really had a relationship like the one mentioned in the poem, or any kind of relationship for that matter. I can picture this in my head though and get a general idea of what is being conveyed.
One question comes to my mind, however. Are you afraid to give your heart to someone else? It seems like that you could be extremely sad over the idea that the one you truly put your heart into denied you and so because of that you feel that if he won't take you, no one will.... OR.... you were hurt so bad that nothing will fix what he broke. I could go as far to say that you may never love again?
That's just my opinion. I'm far off from the likely conclusion but these are just the thoughts created from me, reading your poem.
