Beautiful piece, and very moving! I know someone who had Huntington's Disease and know that it is a cruel and unforgiving ailment, just like Tay-Sachs Disease (which is a cause that I fight for with an unmatched passion, and have done so for five years. No child - or adult - should have to contend with such ruthless and unforgiving circumstances.) www.CureTay-Sachs.org
Thank you for sharing this special experience of humanity with all of us. God Bless you and the sweet man that you met... you have both touched my heart thanks to having put this memory into words.
As someone who has Cerebral Palsy (CP) and who uses a wheelchair and/or walker to get around, I can firmly relate to many of this gentleman's experiences and the need for assistance (at times) while out shopping... Thank you for making us all aware, and for giving us renewed reason to believe in the simple and genuine goodness of our fellow man (and woman). KUDOS!
