an excellent presentation of one's love for one's friend who is perhaps more than a friend. though heart-broken, the poet seems to have resigned to the fact that the friend will now no longer be with him. but all the precious memories he had with his friend will certainly be never forgotten. the poet seems quite sure of this. and he is thankful to god for the time he had with his friend. all in all, an excellent poem.
i really liked the poem for its meter, cleanliness and choice of words. though the title sounds a bit depressing, the actual poem is not so. the poet has beautifully painted a picture of a person waiting his death or release from the shackles of life without any remorse. he is actually happy to be free and looks like he has all the satisfaction that can be had. good poem. keep it up
