I certainly got caught up in this. The beginning wasn't as compelling as the end - which was done VERY well. I liked that it had a negative, realistic ending instead of a "But then he realized how beautiful life was and was happy forever!!!" kind of ending. It was sad though. Reflective too.
It was definitely emotional and intriguing. Personally, I'm not a big fan of romance. You presented your emotions well, but I don't think it was very unique.
I love how consistent the rhythm was. The message was well reflected in your word choice. It kind of felt like the poem was driven by words that rhymed, not necessarily by the theme, however.
