A wonderful story told in rhyme and meter. It's open ended conclusio left me looking over my shoulder and I might need a night light tonight. Very well done!
i do get a kick out of your self effacing attitude toward your poetry. You're better than you give yourself credit for.
This is a lovely poem. the story can stand on its own, but the metaphor makes it a piece of gold. Your rhyme and meter are right on and the photo adds a delightful sense of whimsey.
If i were to offer any suggestion at all it would be to change the period after grip to a semi colon. In my humble opinion, that would make it perfect.
I found this item listed on Carol St.Ann's favorites page, and the more I read over there, the luckier I feel to have an item of mine there too.
This poem of yours is very touching. It tells of online friendship that has fallen off, leaving one of the friends desolate and confused at the probable loss of the other.
It speaks to me as it must to many others. For me, though my online friend and I are still in contact, life changes and things bring about a distance once thought unfathomable. Still that person meant a lot at a certain time, in a certain way. Nothing can change that.
Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for sharing your heart song to your unborn baby. I would suggest no corrections even if I could; it's a sacred thing. SOmething your precious little one will carry forever. Your words should never be changed to suit literary guidelines or the poetic sensitivities of outsiders.
Another wonderful piece of prose, Carol. I really like the way you present your ideas in a comfortable down to earth way. I feel like you wrote this to me. A mark of a good writer. On another note. I also am a fan of Gabriel Byrne!
A great limerick. Jenny is too young to be a hippie but finds the idea interesting. She meets a real hippie and the two forge a friendship where they share old stories and make new ones. Good poem, says alot.
