Poetry has always been hard for me to understand, but nice job capturing the picture of friendship and friendship renewal. I really liked your description "... disguised with adulthood." Had to look up 'anachronic' :) but it totally describes some old friendships I have that are distant now--misplaced due to lives gone separate ways. Again, nice job
I'm new to the herd, but thank you for your words. It sounds like you went through a spell of hurting. Since I'm new there's a lot about the sight and the herd I don't know but get the gist of what you say. Thanks for the courage to address what you feel needs addressing. Glad you're feeling better and look forward to more from your pen
My observations:
A raw and challenging perspective of what is experienced by many today in the cycle of abuse. External expectations versus internal needs.Clear insight into the inner anguish and struggle of the boy in those circumstances. Your ending is also challenging--what do you see?
Response:
I hear a longing for something else and yet hopelessness, ie. ...tallies scored, neither can win.
It is powerful as written. I'm not a big poetry guy, I have trouble reading it much less interpreting it, but this speaks to me.
A good piece
