"So many people wish for what I already have:
I can smile, write, dream, contemplate and laugh."
It's really so easy to forget this. An attitude of gratitude will never disappoint. It really can change your whole day. I've been trying to practice it too. In the morning and again at night. The weird part, is when I get busy in the middle part that it seems to get forgotten.
Thanks for a jaunty little poem and a friendly reminder to be thankful for what I already have.
That was a beautiful story and a pleasure to read. Thank you for sharing a bit of what sounds like a wonderful marriage and a closeness most people will never feel.
Woof. I had to look up 4 of those words. Nice usage. I like the word "solivagant" and "slubberdegullion" made me laugh because it sounds funny. I can definitely relate, but there's no "live your life" on-switch for me, unfortunately. As I've made that same statement a time or two, before. I'm seeing small incremental improvements through journaling and therapy, though and that's good enough for me.
I wish you the best of luck going forward and appreciating the small things and thank you for sharing
I feel the same way, for the most part. I wish I was articulate enough to say some of the things you've expressed here. You're able to identify what you're feeling. So, that's a good start to something. You're doing way better than some of us with that part.
It's a crappy feeling when you forget who you are and even the things you like. I don't have any advice to offer besides "keep going". I don't know that circumstances will get better but hopefully they get easier to manage.
Beautifully written. It's short, but gets the point across. Nice descriptors. I'm guilty of doing the same thing but have recently started journaling and going to therapy. I wish you the best of luck in whatever it is you are searching for. 4.5 stars because only god is perfect.
I've said this for a long time, Gonzo. in any kind of relationship you can't see the problem or solution when you're in it. From the outside it is always super obvious. It's emotions, bro. They make us feel/act retarded. You're a wise man, Gonzo. I always enjoy reading your blurbs.
So, I had to do a google search. I thought I was tricked into reading more weird fetish stuff, but was pleasantly surprised. Not saying much; but you had me going, obviously. Went from: awww man :( to AWW MANN!
I. Don t like my meds either, dude. I haven’t taken them in over a year. Like with everything, it’s fine until it’s not. I like what you wrote here but I’d also like to see some kind of follow up. Can’t hide away forever, bro. Also, normally they carry you off the field if you’re hurt. Not sure I like this analogy because nobody is coming, man.
I really enjoyed reading this. I read it a couple times. I pretended I knew you and felt some solace in your words. They were very inspirational. Kind of like a fortune cookie; they apply everywhere, I guess. Have you ever read the Celestine prophecy? Your last line in your last paragraph reminds me of that book. Probably worth a reread. For me, at least.
I don't really have any advice for you besides; after self-inventory comes self improvement. But, it sounds like you're okay with your self inventory. If you're not, maybe you can look into fixing some of those "issues".
I have never been okay with what I've come back with, but that pushes me to be a little bit better man each time I reflect. You'll get tired of bleeding on people eventually, believe me.
