Commodore,
This piece is as captivating as the question presented. Too often, especially within our more youthful years, is our love interest ignored or shattered, by differing circumstances. Rejection is powerful. Maybe more so than love itself. It can break a person, make them feel unwanted or unloved. It can make them feel alone or forgotten. Love is indeed the opposite of loneliness, and this piece drags all of this to the surface.
About my rating: I believed the piece as a whole was excellent. However, the vocabulary seemed pointed in the opposite of "show, don't tell" which means you narrated the piece, instead of presenting it through the words themselves. For example: You would say "Drowning in tears" instead of "He is sad". Other than this minor drawback, I absolutely loved this piece.
