You've expressed my own opinions here. Writing is my love and it appears that you share it too. Your last paragraph in particular is interesting, when you make the refrence to how a mother loves her child. Writing is giving yourself to something, it is baring your soul to people that you don't know. I like the way you've worded this in particular.
Good job and keep writing -but I'm sure I don't have to tell you twice!
"The poetry of Christmas has a powerful beat", as does this poem! The poet has managed to describe Christmas so beautifully and it is rare that we find poems with such florid description. The last stanza is definitely my favourite, because I completely agree with the poet, and because he/she puts it better then I ever could. Perfect.
Very creepy indeed. The last line has really stayed with me. Edgar Allen Poe will be happy to know that there is anothe morbid poet out there carrying out his work. For a first tray at an abba quatrain poem, it is very impressive. I wish i could write poety just as well and naturally as this author!
I really connected with this poem, because I think that it speaks to all of us that have lost someone we love. I think that the message in this poem is important, that we should grive but we should also remember, as the poet siad, the jokes, the good and the bad, and that we are never alone. I commend the poet on having the strenght to write this about such a difficult issue that all human beings face.
I love poetry, and being a hopeless romantic, I love romantic poetry even more. But, it is really difficult to find love poems that aren't sappy and poorly written. This is hardly the case with this poem, the iambic pentametre is well done, the rhyme scheme perfect and it is obvious that this poet is very talented.
As a huge Orlando Bloom and Johnny Depp fan (not to mention the Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean) I must say that I was very amused by this lovely little piece. It seemed to me to be quite satirical, what with the All-Knowing Monkey and the psychotic bunnies. I full recommend this story to anyone who wants a bit of swashbuckling adventure (some darker comedy) and loves Orli and Johnny!
