i absolutely loved this piece because of the peaceful feelings and strong lovely images it gave me
the one part that stuck out was "drenched in the morning sunshine" which i thought was an amazing image, because it makes a lot of sense but is sort of ironic because usually things are drenched by rain, and here the flowers are drenched by rain's opposite... that just really struck me as perfect for this story
well this piece has a lot of potential, but i think you could definitely develop it a little more and make it even more original by omitting or changing such phrases as "chills down my spine" that we've all heard before... also, the opening needs to be a bit stronger, addressing the audience is an interesting angle but you're almost too informal with the setup of your story, it usually turns a reader off when you say something like "that's where my story begins"... it's often much more effective to just jump right into the action...
wonderful flow to this piece... thanks for writing it, we just came to Bacon's Rebellion in my AP American History course and I was having a little trouble understanding it... but your piece helped! thanks!
hmmm... you've sparked my interest in this author as well as his book... i don't usually read book reviews because the majority of them have been a waste of time... i'm glad to see you went above and beyond the typical "the book was good, everyone should read it" type of review :)
maybe I'll just go out and get a copy for myself...
