I really like the honesty in this poem I think may of us "closet poets" can relate to it.
Plus...I am a big fan of Free Form Poetry (though I still enjoy the well rhymed and metered
type too).
Even after being published, I still feel "alone" when it comes to writing - it's often feels too much like what they used to call "hanging out your laundry" - and I still rarely tell people I am a poet. Somehow, it doesn't seem to be taken very seriously by the non-writing public. PLUS, declaring oneself to be a poet just feels...uhm...braggodicios (LOL)
Welcome back to the world a busy life temporarily invaded!
I couldn't possibly "include tips for improvement" for such a well penned poem! The meter/cadence is totally seductive and the imagery is captivating.
I absolutely loved L3 & 4 in S3
and all the noise outside the glass
lends credence to her crouch.
it anchored the poem with a visceral sense of warm and cozy within/wild and cold without.
I also particularly enjoyed the "bookending" of the bough.
Wonderfully done...
