Review of Poppies Fall  Open in new Window.

It's a lovely poem. But I'm not sure why you used poppies and not any other flower. Is there a special significance to this? The rythmic description of the war from the past and until now is a nice touch. It has emotion without being overly dramatic. I also liked that near the end you inserted a "hopeful" verse but still finished with death, because really, that's where all wars end.

Review of Thinking of You  Open in new Window.

"The same stars are out there
Wherever you are"- I love this line!

This is so nice! you wrote this for your brother and sister-in-law? Well, they must be very special and I'm sure they appreciated this very much. When you read it a couple of times, and if you don't know that it's written for some people who are (fighting?) in Iraq, one can imagine it to be a love song in earnest.

Keep up the good work!

I really liked it! This is very romantic, in my opinion. Autumn (where there is autumn, because here, we don't) is always a beautiful season. I loved that you compared love and commitment/marriage to the feel of autumn. I can just imagine, two people who have been together for such a long time, now in the twilight of their life and still deeply in love. It is simply beautiful. Thank you for sharing this.
