This piece really spoke to me. Being a new mother (I have a two-year-old, and one on the way), I'm just starting to realize what it is to see things through my child's eyes. The whole world seems new and exciting, even if it's watching my daughter's reaction to some amazing thing that she'd never seen before! I remember how she used to get enthralled in something as simple as a tree, watching it move in the breeze, or how she found comedy in a musical toy with flashing lights. It's amazing and a rather wholesome feeling to be able to witness her reactions to things, or how she's continually learning of new finds. In truth, it's almost like I'm living another life through her eyes.
I TOTALLY understand what you are conveying here! It's a good thing to know that this feeling will continue all through all of my kid's years. I hope beyond hope that my kids can see the world and your daughter has, and that they will take part in their world and make a difference, too.
You must be SO proud! Your daughter sounds like a truly wonderful person, as do you. :)
Keep writing!
