Absolutely touching and very beautifully portrayed. I was so drawn to the story of such an enormous struggle for acceptance, free will and the choice to be who you are. What a powerful use of metaphors! I do hope the mermaid found peace and tranquility in the arms of the ocean!

Hi Anisa - I enjoyed the raw emotion in your poem. The first three lines are very powerful and drew me in. The anger is palpable . The ending -specifically the last two lines seem a little disconnected from the whole theme of the poem and could do with a bit more work.
