Wow, I really liked this poem. Personally, I have a bit of an adjective obsession, so when a piece has a plethora of very specific descriptive adjectives, like yours does, it makes me happy. I especially like the two lines "The discomfited memories of
Graceless attempts at life." I also identify quite a bit with you when you say "what I know for sure
fits in the pulled off top of an acorn." This is an original image and it is specific enough for me to know exactly what you are talking about.
One aspect of this piece that I wish you would explore a little more was the relationship between yourself and this woman. It makes me curious what went wrong between the two of you.
