This is a great poem of expression. I slowed at "both day by day" because I had to think about who. It was great to put that stop there because it caused me to reflect again and remind myself what the poem is about. It gives a twist because it calls to me to realize empathy for the other is important but to realize that the other person is experiencing similar struggles.
As a caregiver, I can get caught up in the caregiving and forget that those I'm caring for struggle with their daily living, especially if disabled.
I love this poem!!! It's meter brings back memories of when I dabbled in poetry and tried my hand and wrote about a covered bridge, that sits and waits, to welcome trotting horses gaits...
Unfortunately, I don't remember the rest of what I wrote or how it went, but this poem created the same proud, warm feeling inside of the accomplishment. Thank you! I live with an Epilepsy Warrior! Fight on!
