When I get a review on my poems , short stories or articles, I look for constructive critique.
This helps me as a writer to determine what subjects readers will be interested in and whether or not I am conveying the message I intended. I have to admit though there are times when I have an idea and put it forth on paper, only to discover many readers did not get the point, or see the ( at times ) " twisted " humor, which can be satire. So by getting constructive feedback helps me to become a better writer.. although I will admit there have been times when some critiques have been really malicious, so I had to toughen up. I try to be very understanding of the writer as it was thoughts from their mind they shared, we all have good days and bad, and there are times when we may be trying a new technique...so I say be fair, offer advice, and give credit where credit is due and most of all remember, never forget one day you may be on the receiving line.. just my thoughts on the subject.
Kloepta...words well written and thought provoking...I think everyone has given thought to a life less ordinary at one time or another, although many may not admit to it..
