Brilliant! And so very true. If only we could all realize that having a "purpose" doesn't nescessarily entail fame or fortune. I once heard a similar saying, I"m not sure of the excact wording, but it went something along the lines "You have your thinkers and your doers. The thinkers make it possible for the doers to do and vice verse." Makes sense to me. Of course, trying to figure out which one we are is the challenge. But I'm rambling. I think this was a story well told and one that definately needed to be told. Thank you for sharing this. Kaye
Well, first of all, you may want to consider changing the rating to 18+, as it had me blushing; and that's not an easy feat. Overall, I thought it was exactly what any guy would want to hear. It's sexy, the descriptives are right on, and it doesn't take long to read it. Brilliant! If you haven't already given it to him, do it now! I look forward to reading more of your works. Thank you! Kaye
so sad, but a lovely and heartfelt tribute. i believe it's especially difficult for us because as children we grow up seeking approval from our parents and when we inevitably disappoint them, we let ourselves down. YOU are the brave soul to put such a personal and private time out there for all to see. but i feel that even though it may have seemed you had let her down, the reality was, as you stated, you had done all you could. i'm sure she realized it and wishes now that she could ease your guilt. while her last days may not have been good, rest assured she is smiling down on you. how can she not, with a son as devoted as you. my heart goes out to you as i well know it's never an easy thing, no matter the circumstances. peace be with you. kaye
absolutely hilarious!! the cynical take on the whole story is perfect. and the names you came up with,' lunatic fringe pier and the antiquity sea' are reminicent of the beatles' pulp classic; 'sargent pepper's lonely hearts club band'. i hope there isn't any offence in the comparison. it is, of course, quite unique and i loved it. i do hope there is a sequel. i am new to this site, so i'm not sure , but it seems as though this should be a regular read, if it isn't. but that's just my wanting more! you have a very vivid imagination and your ability to describe with detail in the most off the wall manner, & still have it understood is remarkable. kudos to you threefold over!!! thank you!! kaye
i enjoyed this read. the descriptives used brought out the pain you must have been going through so clearly. it is a hard thing when we give of ourselves something so precious only to have it taken for granted. excellent write! thank you! k
yes, it's clearly 'one of those days' for you. you have a very interresting style. i like how you break it up for the pauses and your cynicism comes through loud and clear along with the humor underlying it. very refreshing. of course i'm not a pro, just your average joe-sephine; thank you for sharing this piece. kaye
