It was a pleasure to review the free verse poem of "Going Home". The imagery of steep and cold mountains and dark valleys was very vivid and spoke to me of various times of life, especially the dark times when one is weary and longing for rest. I like how the end of the poem leaves one feeling a deep sense of hope and peace. Nicely written. Keep on writing.
The poem Winter Bloom is a very easy read. I liked the imagery of a dead flower to symbolize and remember a broken heart. The hurt and pain was easily felt and experienced. Nicely written.
Bunny Rabbits and Belly Rubs is a delightful, easy read. I can easily visualize the puppy (in my mind I visualized a Beagle or Tree Walker) blissfully dreaming of running free all the while content to be at home with belly rubs. Nicely written, fun poem! Keep writing.
I enjoyed reading " The Sort of Homecoming" . The opening image of the main character sitting outside is very vivid and easy to feel a part of. The uncertainty of where to share the experience left me with anticipation of what might have happened. The memories shared of time with a beloved grandma were very poignant. The description of the out of body experience was very good. I would have liked to have learned more about that, but realizing it is a short story, its hard to develop that one section. The story was very real to me and nicely done. I especially loved the " I didn't know the only way to fight your fears is to face them". Very insightful. Nicely written piece! Keep writing!
The poem "In Blue" is easy to read and follow. The first image that came to mind was of a proud parent or grandparent glancing at a newborn baby boy, the second image that came to mind was of a new love and unforgettable images, memories. Very nicely done.
I enjoyed reading this lovely piece. It captures the feelings and emotions of a very powerful moment, something that all of us have thought and felt at one time in our lives. I found it very easy to follow. The spacing between paragraphs was very nice. It has me wanting to know more about the two charachters, how they got to this point and where are they going to. I like the use of questions, not quite answered. Very well written piece.
Keep writing!
As a Living Historian of the Civil War Era, you have created a well written piece that clearly explains the issues of the town of Princeton during the troubled time. It is a very easy read and leaves me wanting to know more of the towns activities and tribulations of the period. You could really continue the story adding in an encounter with runaways trying to escape. Nicely done.
I found this to be very helpful as I am new to writing.com and not aware of how to link to writing.com. I found the piece to be very concise and well written. The use of bold headings and spaces between headings and paragraphs made the piece very easy to read and understand. As a writer of medical patient education, this meets my basic criteria for easily understood language, use of appropriate font size and color, as well as the above mentioned spacing.
