This was fun. I'd like to try making own of my own. I've seen a few different Alice in Wonderland movies, but I would like to read the book or books, I'm not sure if there are more than one about that world.
That was a lovely origin story. I can almost see Tolkien on your bookshelf at home. I love the name of the troll. I only wonder what his wife's name is, and his children. I half expected it to lead to some sort of creature crossing the bridge, but meeting a lady troll and having trollettes was a nice twist at the end.
I'm considered Millennial, so my older sister would be Gen X. I saw a lot of what you described in my childhood. There's one sentence that throws my off. "Near mind 80s revealed to the world that all was not so great." I don't quite understand the subject of the sentence. "Near mind 80s": not sure what that means. A good read, and a pleasant reminder of my childhood. Also, no one asked to be born.
