Wow! I'm sorry for the delay in 'fanning' you, A. What a great perspective! I too am a believer. I believe Satan tries his best to beset us with negativity... namely, fear and condemnation. Someone once told me that although Satan has the ability to transport himself from place to place (Omnipresent? Not sure) and has some supernatural abilities (Omnipotent?... I doubt that), he absolutely cannot read our minds (Omniscient), like God. It is when we voice the negative (or behave in a manner that illustrates our fear) that Satan attacks us. What I appreciate most about the story of Job, is his conclusion in the midst of his trials... "The Lord blesseth and the Lord taketh away. Blessed be the Lord." Regardless of outcome, he has decided to bless Jehovah. When we spend our energy on exalting God, we have created an environment (in our minds) where Satan cannot attack us with destructive thinking. So this is my motto now (esp after reading your reflections) Even when I don't feel like it, I am going to exalt the name of the Lord and declare my faith in Him, regardless of my situation. (And we are having a heck of a financial situation at this very moment!) I am going to do what Tobymac does... 'Speak Life,' and declare God's truth. I am done listening to Satan. I have the mind of Christ and greater is he that is in me than he that is in the world. Thanks for writing this and reminding me of where I need to focus my energy (and thought life).

Review of Resolutions  Open in new Window.

This is a great strategy that I am going to try, Sarah... I set several resolutions last year and while I know that a few of them I achieved, I have honestly been afraid to look at them for fear of discouragement. :(

Better for me is to set one, I think and work toward accomplishing just that one. Then add another. I had 10 and 10 is just too many to try to tackle at once.

Going to share this, albeit a bit late. Actually, though, maybe our Voice readers just need to be encouraged like me. :)

Thanks again!

Kai, Wow! Robust and dark. Powerful and gripping. But, I want to learn more about what happens... esp. w/ Miss Banner. I've never read fan fiction before... Do you sort of have to know the characters for it to make sense. I don't see a lot of movies, so if your stories require knowledge of previous events or characters, I would be lost.

I haven't had a chance to check out the site you shared, but I definitely will.

Thanks for the ride!

I don't read a lot of fantasy, Katydid13, but I appreciate your enthusiasm. And, I agree with you... "Once upon a time" is superfluous and obvious. I like reading a book that from the very first sentence transports you to that (once upon a)time. After all, every story began 'once upon a time,' right?!

Keep em coming!

P.S. I will get everyone's feed back on this site when we have our first blackboard meeting, which I'm hoping will be Wed., 12/2 at 10am. (The one who could NOT meet at 10am has now pulled out.) All meeting notices/changes will be send via email and I'll confirm that I am using everyone's preferred email when I send that first notice out (some have multiple emails.)

Thanks for completing your first assignment!

'belongings'-plural,right? Also a curse is a bad/unlucky spell so her fireproof protection spell would not be a curse correct. Also, will the villagers not see that she is not consumed? How will she escape? What is her plan moving forward?

Your writing is captivating, Icebear. I want to know the WHOLE story, both before this moment and after. Share more if you can!

Okay, Icebear... We are about to get started! I love your enthusiasm.

I love your enthusiasm, Liszy! We are going to have fun, if others will also use this site. Keep in mind that I am brand new too, but I did figure out how to find you through the site 'search members' option (FINALLY!) Also, please remember that this is not a 'class" it's just a club. Any writing you do for a class grade can be shared here, of course, but I am not a teacher. I am just a fellow writer, like yourself.

All meeting notices/changes will be send via normal VCS email (not email/messaging on this site.) and I'll confirm that I am using everyone's preferred email when I send that first notice out (some have multiple emails.)

Thanks for being my first responder (you really were the 1st... I am not reading these in order.) and I apologize for the late delay in reaching out.
