This was a well-written and emotionally evocative piece. I read through it several times and liked it better each time. The short, curt sentences that carried so much description was especially well done. The ending was especially powerful. The image of the boy floating to the bottom of the pool wrapped in the tarp was extremely poignant. This seemed like a very polished piece of writing to me.
I was left wanting to know more about this boy and why he chose the action he did at the end as well as more about his mother and father but part of the strength of this piece is how it leaves so much to the readers' imagination.
