Wow. I am speechless. It's always an honor when you get to hear another person's story. And I enjoyed reading yours here.

Writing essays can be a bit tricky as somehow the word 'essay' invokes a memory of school requirements. But what most people don't consider is that an essay can take various forms. Aside from providing the reader with information, they can also include anecdotes and stories. These are normally what draws readers in. And this is evident in your work here.

I really appreciate how you provided the reader with a short lesson on Yin and Yang right of the bat. It's a great start which immediately grasp a reader's attention. The transition to the story is also well written. And the story itself is relevant to the concept you were trying to relay.

What I like the most here is how you were able to knit that all up in four paragraphs. Sometimes, less is truly more. It was concise without being emotionless. My favorite part would have to be the last line.

"a little Yin, a little Yang."

It tied everything up in a neat ribbon and left some aftertaste for the mind. Well done!

This is so beautiful. I can definitely feel the emotion you as I was reading. Perhaps because this piece was inspired by someone so dear to you? I love how you described her with a mixture of admiration and realistic observations. Most love poems I read make the protagonist to seem almost perfect. But I love how this describes an actual person and not just another too good to be true character. Best of luck to you!

You have a great start there. It was intriguing and begged attention from the reader which I like to think is a sign of a great story. After all, first few lines are how you get them hooked. The more I read on, the more the story seems to be like a dream. think that with a little more solid drafting of the plot and cleaning up the presentation, it's turn out really well. Best of luck! :)
