"The squeaky wheel gets the grease." That's the saying. And it's true. The quiet people get left in the dust.
I too have difficulty speaking, even just casual conversation or asking a simple question. Nobody else can understand... they don't know how it feels to look someone in the eye and suddenly lose the ability to form words. It is frustrating to feel so helpless.
High school was miserable for me. I would go all day without speaking a word. I couldn't make friends because nobody thought I wanted to. I didn't seem very friendly and approachable. In reality I am a very kind and loyal person with a good sense of humor. But nobody knows that.
Your words are hauntingly familiar. I'm glad that with writing at least you have a chance to express yourself.
Such a lovely tale of forgotten magic. Too often we are blind to the true beauty surrounding us, skimming the surface rather than exploring the depth of possibility. Only a select few are able to see the magic hidden inside.
As a cat lover myself, this was a very nice read. It is an excellent depiction of a very happy cat with a good home. Cisco knows he is treated well and fulfills his duty of guarding his family from the rodent menace. And his method of waking his human is one all cat owners* recognize... although not always are the claws sheathed.
*By "owners" I mean roommates, since a human could never truly own a cat.
Yep, another day in the life of a happy kitty.
Clearly you were loved very much, Cisco. Rest in peace.
