Firstly, I don't think you really had much evidence that those girls were lesbian. Secondly, there are worse things than needing to kill time in Seattle. It's a great city, and there are plenty of cool neighborhoods (Chinatown, West Seattle, Capitol Hill, etc.). You'll have some trouble if you have a problem with gay people though. Seattle is a really tolerant city. We have a huge gay neighborhood (Capitol Hill) and even a gay Anglican Bishop. Seattleites often get really pissed if you say anything "homophobic" so you should learn to at least be comfortable around gays if you'll be moving here.
This is a very well written poem. If it's true you should know that nobody is worthless, and however lonely and empty your life feels there's someone out there who will be your friend and love you for who you are. Clinical deppression runs in my family, and sometimes it causes this mental pain and extreme sadness. Its a purely chemical thing that I know that I can't control, so I just drink some coffee or wait for it to pass. As hard as that pain is to handle, an emptiness so great that even pain is better is unimaginable to me. If you've been living through that emptiness you're a very strong person, and I admire your strength. I don't know who you are, but you should know that I care about you and hope that you can find a way to be happy that doesn't involve self harm. There are other people who care about you too. You just need to be strong and try to enjoy the one life that you were given. It is a huge mistake to throw that life away. Remember, things always can get better.
Great story. If the details and back story were revealed more slowly, and you made this a little longer, it would make a great first chapter of a book. You made a very good point about spirituality as well. People of all religions ultimatelly believe in the power of good no matter what they call their Gods. It makes no sense to believe that everyone outside of our small sects are condemned to hell.
