I must confess, though, that I thought it was going to go in a much different directin based up on the brief description. You've written about something everyone experiences at the idea of a ph=sychic, whether we actually investiage it or not and the ending twist was worked in nicely. Once again, you did not go in the conventional direction and that makes this something I will share with friends.
You have several grammatical and punctuaion errors, most of which revolve around commas. Otherwise, it's a well written story.
It's written as though you are speaking to me. Conversation drifts like your subject. From the search for the thumb drive to retracing your steps to finding the old wirtings and ending at a time of soul searching.
Your analysis of how you compressed time was very interesting. I never thought of it in those terms, but that does happen when I am on the computer. I lost all sense of time. A whole rainy weekend can pass before I know it.
It was a good read that caused me to ponder a few things too. And i admit to curiosity about what happened to land you in prison in the first place. ALso if you think you would be writing to day, if that had not happened?
This is a terrific glimpse into the family life of these people. The father: wanting to make everything all right, trying to ignore the reality that he cannot. The mother: embittered by life's meager offerings. Jenny: too old to let it go - too young to be soured by it. Little Isabelle: timid and frightened to allow the experience of it get too close.
So much is laid out in this brief kitchen exchange. Awesome work.
Hello Carol, I am new to WDC. I came here to read and review rather than write and this is my first review.
Your comparison of two the writing styles between you and Barb was fun and entertaining. It was light and easy, made its point and held my attention throughout.
Additionally, I am thrilled to learn that someone besides me writes in a nonlinear fashion!
