I found this story very enjoyable. I would be interested to read more, and also to possibly explore the interaction between the demons. What would be the reaction in the demon world if Winter Born were to seek to expand her relationship with her grandfather? Would she receive the same sort of (potentially misplaced) distrust in their "society" that he receives in the Mide's? All in all, I enjoyed your story very much. Great work.
