I love the picture you have painted! I had to read it a couple of times before I realized what was happening. I’d like to find out what happens next! Why does the “dark marionette” want revenge? And how can a shadow get revenge…unless it’s completely dark…I hope you turn this image into something more!
Oh, my. This did not turn out the way I expected. I can picture Peggy’s character, but I’m having a little more trouble with Mr. Thomson. A great story!
A wonderful story! I think most women can relate to this feeling. You have incorporated the senses so well that I feel like I was there. Although this piece stands alone well by itself, it could also be the beginning of something longer if you wanted.
I especially like the way you play with words, especially “the baleful beast banished” and the “bridal train derailed.” It’s a great short-short. I think this story certainly could stand alone, or it could be developed into the beginning of a longer story.
