You were very perceptive at seventeen as well. I have known this feeling well that you put in this poem. But it seems to me that you are saying even if we lose ourselves we still have a chance to become new again. I wrote this once, I'll share it:
Love…finding out that you are capable of selflessly giving yourself (selfless bonding).
Origin…finding out that you have the internal guidance that it takes to reinvent yourself after loss.
Survival…finding out that have the skill to deal with that which come for you.
Transformation…finding out there is redemption or salvation in facing whatever happen happens.
This is an interesting piece. I wish I knew more about it, like how does this, what I call, 'clockless time' work for the character? How is it accessed? Your description was certainly vivid enough for me to see the character's response to the horrors surrounding him. I could sense how he was feeling. I found that this only peaked my curiosity to want to know more.
