This is a sorrowful, short and simple poem. It speaks to me about love, lost and lonesomeness. The word choice is well molded with the tone, which I can relate to personally and I know many others can relate as well. From what I gather from the poem, the speaker has lost their love because of some fault of the speaker, which, again, is quite relatable. What I like best is your rhythm, which is what I seek out primarily. It isn't a typical rhyme scheme and rhythm that one finds in numerous poems, but the rhyme falls into place subtly and elegently, with words that don't typically go rhyme on a regular basis, working well together here. What I think can be changed is simply the use of ¨I wonder why¨ so often. The phrase becomes a too repetitive for me and I think less use of it would emphasize its importance more.
