You write so well that this isn't a review as much as a fan letter.
This story was particularly hilarious to me because I have children that have done similar damage (different items broken by different combinations of children on several occasions), and I loved the vicarious satisfaction I enjoyed through this father's "revenge."
I have also recently read "You Did What?" "I've Had Enough" "Grandma's House" "The Witch of Creek Manor Drive" and "First Century Lifestyle in Palestine."
Your fictional stories progress well, entertain, and keep me wondering, "What next?" from beginning to end.
"First Century Lifestyle in Palestine" was also very accessible and interesting.
I especially admire the clarity and precision of your writing.
I look forward to reading more, and I thank you for sharing your work with us.
Loved this from beginning to end! Calvin was a compelling character from the beginning of the story, and I was interested enough to read the entire piece with great interest.
Very dark story, but told in a way that was compelling and not exploitative.
This is hard to give feedback on because I'm not sure which audience you are aiming to reach.
Commercially, I would say it's rather, "off the mark," because it requires quite a bit of attention since it does not follow the cadence of a typical work of fiction.
However, if your intended audience is more specifically selected, the piece is sucessful in creating a very intense mood. The ambiguity of Kareth is very intriguing. I especially like, "I am a hero. I am a nightmare."
