It's great that you can express yourself this way and share it with us. Disabilities are tough but somehow I think other talents make themselves known when things are taken away. *Smile*

I guess I'm an apple, but I'm not sure what kind of apple. Which ever is the sweetest I guess. *Laugh*

Great fun little quiz!

I like this piece very much. It speaks of a feeling many of us have shared, however you have done it in a very original and interesting way.

I like the way you bring across the fact that although you may be sad you have done what needed to be done. It is like a glass of freezing water splashed on a face. It speaks of reality and the cold hard truth of life.

I loved they way you ended the poem, it kind of reminded me of sliding into homeplate to win the game.

I love the visual too, of the flowers in a tire.

Growing flowers and baking bread-two great things to do and learn from your Teke.*Heart*

I am not much of a reviewer of any sort. I do not feel I am quite educated enough to give you an true perspective on this piece.

I can however, tell you what my simple mind thought of as I read through this piece...

I felt it was easy to read, yet a little more obscure in its content.

I found this piece to be very personal.

I believe it gushed of originality like a cup of water being knocked over. It flowed in every direction, but never in the wrong direction.

I found this piece to be very visual.

It flowed with fantastic words, and its feeling cut deep to the core.

What a nice piece of writing!

Being honest and open, not holding any feelings back is the way to be. Life is to short to be something that you are not. It is important to like yourself for who you are and anyone who doesn't agree with that is not worth being in your life. That does include family as well. There is always people out there who will understand and accept you for who you are. Reaching out to others is important because when we reach out, we usually wind up helping others as well as ourselves.

Review of She's All Alone  Open in new Window.

You convey the feelings so well in this poem. Death is never an easy topic to even think about much less write about. I think it is very brave and strong of you to do this. Although the pain of losing a love one will never go away. You can take comfort in the fact that, for a time you shared your life with him on an obviously deep deep level.

Although you may feel you are alone just know there are others in this world who are with you and feel the profound sadness of a death of a loved one.

We are with you and really do care!

What a great little story. It is the perfect speed for me. Where did Bee Beaver move to? How come he didn't say goodbye? He really wasn't Beaver Brunch was he? I am glad Hoppity turned out okay but he should be grounded for going into a strangers house without asking his mom first, or at least calling her on his cell phone to let her know where he was going. *Smile*

This is great! I can't be sure of its true meaning to you. However it does speak to me, and that is what a poem should do after all.

To me it seems to speak of inner pain that can not be seen by others from a meer look, and it tells me that we all know what is truly correct for ourselves, since we are the only one who can honestly say that we know what we are about and what is right for us as individuals.

Nicely done!

Review of Mesothelioma  Open in new Window.
Review by andrew Author IconMail Icon

Information is always a good idea, I am glad you have posted this. My only possible objection is where you say Mesothelioma is always fatal. I am a man living with Aids and Karposi sarcoma, my cancer doctor told me I had a year to live. Well, he was wrong, I am still alive. I contribute this not only to modern medicine but also to the power of the mind to control ones body. My point is everyone has a fatal disease we all just have not died from it yet. It is extremly important to keep a positive attitude. I won't be dead till I am actually dead. If I would have believed that having Aids(a fatal disease) was going to kill me, I would have missed out on many womderful years. It is important to remember to live life while we still have it.

Great article!

Review of What is Poetry?  Open in new Window.

There is some wonderful infomation here. It was a pleasure to read. Poetry has helped me tackle some tough choices, make me laugh, smile, and even greatly alter my mood for the better. I like things in order and I find poetry to be a very organized form of art, that seems to be endless in terms of emotion, shape, and true wonder.

This is exactly how I felt when I realized how wonderful life really is. It took me getting sick to figure it all out, but just like your poem everything seems clear.

I get the sense from your piece that the thought behind this poem struck quite fast with a moment of sheer clarity.

Nice job!

Very original! I really like that fact. I also like your repeated use of the word "Of" I think it pulls the entire poem together.

I do think the last four lines could be reworked a little bit, Perhaps extended with some more descriptive words. I do have to say that I liked the way you explained being alone.

Nicely done,

Calmer, you are a very wise person. I believe it was your son who once said..."Intellegence is not something that you know, it is how capable you are of knowing it."

You write from the heart, that is more important then spelling or grammer. I am a horible speller, however I do read over my work and often catch a lot of my mistakes that way. I still make plenty of mistakes though.

Anyway, I realize that you write for yourself and nobody else and your points are very well recieved.

Well have a good night Calmer(or as like to call you mom)*Wink*

I gave this poem a 5.0 because in the writing.com community that stands for perfect, and that cleary is what your poem was; it was perfect. I understood and agree with the message in the poem so it really struck a cord with me. Also your poem flowed from begining to end like a breeze carrying the wisdom of your words so all can understand.

Good Job!

All of your work is very well written and thought out. It's obvious that you put a lot of time and effort into your writing. You should be quite pleased with your writing. I really can't comment to much on the specifics of this piece because I don't feel I am educated enough to do so. However even I can see how the words you have chosen have melted together properly. So keep up the great writing.

Your ideas are great Mrs. Calmer but you must watch your spelling. Try reading it over after you write it and you will find you spelling mistakes. I think you are doing a great job and I want to write on!!!! It helps, good spelling or bad spelling.
