As a kid or young teenager, I did experience what it was like to be bullied. In todays world, I read countless stories that deal with this topic and it makes me angry. If these children are suppose to be our future, why do we continue to let them be hurt ? There is a common word I see when I read a story about someone who has been bullied and that word is INVESTIGATE. Life will always be about choices but what happens to a child when they feel the only choice or option is to take their own life? Sometimes you end reading about the parents, school administrators or other adults wishing they had done something sooner to prevent such an unnecessary tragedy. Some people choose to deny or look the other with those same actions. When FDR said in his speech; "The only thing we have to FEAR is FEAR itself, I have to believe he was 100% correct in that statement. We choose to ignore out of FEAR, we choose to deny out of FEAR and we choose to not speak up out of FEAR! We all read the same stories about the loss of innocent children, how they were bullied to make a decision that should have never been made in the first place or even the story of the Miami Dolphins football team picking on one of its own players. Whether its other children or even other adults, bullying is still bullying no matter how you look at it. Who bullies the bully? Was there some traumatic event that made them who they are today? The society of today is much much different than it was 20 years ago. Most people take issue with something, create lawsuits just because they feel they've been emotionally distressed, how so much is politically incorrect or how people become so offended on an issue that doesn't even effect them on a personal level but yet they somehow feel they're the victim. Yes, times have changed and will keep on changing but how do we prevent those same events or actions from changing who we are and why we need to continue doing the right thing.
Thoughts: Part One

You know, I've spent a great deal of almost the last 2 years reflecting on where I've been and where I'm headed through my writing and just some basic opinions on how I feel or what's going on in my mind. I express my life through writing in hopes to keep challenging myself and maybe inspire others. Now, some things get me fired up to the point where I start thinking, what can I say or write that somehow might make a difference. Sometimes I wish a new voice would speak up and simply say, I agree with you. There are so many issues to try and tackle in this world and maybe it's impossible to make a dent but if we never try, then we will never see a true impact in the change that is truly needed. We are a society of individuals who constantly choose to look the other way, pretend it never happened or have a completely blind eye knowing our vision is just fine. We make excuses for the actions of others with no accountability in sight. TRUTH IS, that as a nation, WE ARE AFRAID to do the right thing!

New to this forum and hope others will eventually follow my writing adventures and share in my understand of how i can make a difference with the words i write.
